I've read and heard from friends that hiring is very seasonal. I've been on the hunt since September and I've seen a noticable decrease in new jobs being posted as the year closes. Does anyone know when hiring ramps back up? I'm guessing a week or two into January? I'm looking for solutions architect (or similar like sales support engineer) roles at AWS, GCP, and Azure in LA if that matters.
I got an offer from AWS around Thanksgiving for SA. Hiring usually slows down after that, and picks up more actively after new years. Give me a couple weeks after new years and if you're still looking I can help with referral
Would you be able to share the referral? I’m also looking starting mid-Jan! Data/product analyst roles specifically
Sure just PM me after new years and we'll go from there
Yes exactly. Number of openings will slow down in Q4 and picks-up again around 2-3 weeks into Q1
Cool, glad I'm not just missing something here. I certainly don't feel like doing much of anything until a few weeks after the holidays so makes sense!
Here at google our org is still waiting for 2020 headcount to be finalized. It should get done by January and positions will start opening after that.
Makes sense, so probably January into February a lot of new postings? BTW if you were looking to spread some Christmas cheer I'm a well-qualified solutions architect and I would love a referral!!
