How would rank interview difficulty and hiring bar from most difficult to easist across US cities such as NYC, SF bay Area, Seattle, LA, Chicago etc?
How are you supposed to answer this with a poll?
you can type if you want. poll is for people have no patience to type.
No I’m asking how can I even use poll for ranking? I can either select one option which would be the most difficult bar in my opinion or several that will select them all at the same time. How would I indicate that something is #2 or #3 The correct question would be to ask what we think is the most difficult one and then the outcome of the poll would be your ranking :)
why you asking? you wanna move to the easiest location?
Bay Area has the lowest hiring bar, Boston is the highest.
I think it depends on company. Hiring bar as a whole (ie. Getting a job offer) is easy in Bay Area because of so many positions/companies. But I think top companies in Bay Area may be the hardest (with an exception to hft companies elsewhere)
Can you not even create a poll with a proper question? Wherever you work has the lowest bar to clear interviews.
chicago and austin are clear winners
Tech hiring is capricious nonsense generally. How else can you end up with 100k open reqs in a place like Seattle unless there is bullshit gate-keeping to protect investors from true market dynamics?
Its not so much location, hiring bar is set by company not by location. Every location has low bar, medium bar, and high bar companies
Jesus Christ 🤦🏼♂️
Ranking tech interview difficulty. >Not including DC. Im actually glad for this because in DC we focus on delivering for our companies and clients. We don't focus on VC funded meme technolgies du jour.
