What are the interviews like in Netflix? HM phone screen, technical phone screen, on-site? What to expect? Are there riddles? Is it a behavioral interview? STAR?
It varies by team. My experience was: HM phone, technical phone, take home project, 2 onsites. No riddles. No leetcode. All straightforward practical questions. The first onsite is mostly technical: 1 short recruiter interview 1 technical review and enhance take home project 1 hiring manager 1 coding 1 system design Second onsite is non-technical with director/vp, HRBP, etc
Do you mind giving an example of what a practical question would be? Sorry, my mind is muddled with Leetcode and haven’t found any concrete question on Glassdoor, hence the question. Thanks a lot!
People always say “culture fit”. What kinda of things are they looking for?
Are you into our culture. If your favorite thing is process, you won't fit. If you're a manager who likes to control you won't fit. Etc. Our culture doc is on the jobs site.
How do I get an interview at the LA Netflix office for a product manager role? I have no connections in Netflix but really really want to work at there. Does simply applying to roles actually work..? If not, what are the alternatives?
The recruiter phone screen is a serious screening for culture fit. They aren't just checking for a pulse, so take it seriously. There is no set process so could be a little different for each team. On site usually consists of two halves, you only do the second half if you get a thumbs up in the first half. There shouldn't be riddles (like tennis balls in swimming pools). The HRBP will be a behavioral interview. Make sure you are interested and passionate about the actual job, they don't hire people just to hire they want you to want to work there and want to do that specific job.
