Facebook sent me this. which companies have similar policy ?
What part of OPT / Optional Practical Training, you don’t get ? it is OPTIONAL !!
Have you tried not being a di*k and shutting your mouth when you have nothing useful to say?
This seems reasonable policy in the USA. With h1b for masters grads being less and less certain due to lottery odds, it's understandable that they would not want to recruit folks who are likely to have no work auth after 2 years of joining. Better to focus on those who don't face this uncertainty.
Didn’t you come on student visa anyways which is non immigrant ? So now you want a red carpet ... wow, seem like you lied on your visa application
Just shut up. My question was simply which companies have similar policy? Didn’t ask for your opinion
Yes they require at least 24 months. I know someone who didn’t move forward because they had 23 months.
I think I have seen a similar post about microsoft on blind.
I think many companies do have this policy or some policy on this line. A friend of mine was finding it difficult to get interviews coz of this.
Sad to hear that. What happens to OPT guyz who doesn't get their H1? Just curious. But yea, it makes sense why they seek atleast 2 yrs of auth.
They have to go back to their country. If the company has an office there, they may get transferred and keep applying for h1b/L1 to come back.
This is very common. Although less common than the policy of just not hiring OPT visas at all
