What qualifies as ICT5 level work? Is the expectation same as E6 FB, L6 Google, L7 Amazon?

    ICT5 is a large band. On the low end, it would be similar to high L5 at fb/google, and on the high end, it would be similar to L9.

    ICT5 is company level scope. Your work should be impactful across the company. L7 level people will probably get to ICT6. I know of atleast 2 in my org..

      You mean company wide impact or company wide scope ? It’s much easier to have wide impact ... even adding a small button on Facebook website had WorldWide impact

      So I presume you do not mean company wide scope. Only Tim Cook has that much scope

      Scope as in your project reaches a VP or is presented as a feature in wwdc. Drag and drop on iPad for instance.. The software lead for that is probably a ICT5.. Most people who are ICT6 level probably take the management route and become Directors..

    There is a misunderstanding and incorrect information in blind. Apple ict5 is equivalent to google /facebook L6,apple ict6 equivalent to L7. There are 3 more engineering levels above ict6. I do not remember exact names(my manager had discussed them with me a couple of years ago) but one of them was DEST and the highest ranking one was “fellow”.

      levels.fyi does not have this info. Are there any ICT6 ppl at Apple? I presume job levels are kept secret at Apple, but somehow people know about it?

      Levels.fyi is not correct. Once I worked with 3 ict6 engineers at the same time (I was ict4 engineer). I also have a close friend who got to ict6 in 3 years after joining as a PhD grad in machine learning.
