We may not feel it yet but recession is definitely here. High inflation, high oil price, supply chain constraints, slowdown in hiring activities in the growth sector.

We need a president not this clown in the White House.

Recession could be a good thing and is part of a healthy economy. Let’s just hope we don’t end up with stagflation

    • EVs? You mean Tesla and nothing else? That’s not a startup.

Crypto? What startup? Coinbase? That’s it. Garbage. Unlike the previous developments crypto adds nothing of value to society. It has zero societal ramifications for anyone who cares.

VR already had its mainstream moment and the reception was lukewarm. Stop shilling for something consumers keep rejecting no matter how hard you want to push for it

  • Which of the President's policies would you say have contributed to the recession?

I'm not a huge Biden fan but this is misleading. XL pipeline isn't even complete and would've taken years. It's not the cause of the prices we see today. Also, Biden has talked a lot about banning fracking but has not actually done it yet. What he has done is delay approval of new drill sites on federal lands. The prices we see at the pump today are due to OPEC and other oil producers not ramping up production of oil fast enough, so they can recoup their losses from the past 2 years when nobody was using oil (remember when oil futures dropped to negative $ for a barrel last year?), and oil speculators buying up oil contracts ahead of the ban on Russian energy exports.

Printing 40% of USD in the last 12 months? Out of control spending. I am surprised you are even asking this question.

  • Most define a recession as two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth. We're not there yet. https://www.statista.com/statistics/188185/percent-change-from-preceding-period-in-real-gdp-in-the-us/

    • Fortunately economics are generally based on objective measures, and not how random people in the economy "feel" things are going. Because growth was higher precovid vs now is irrelevant. As long as GDP growth is > 0, it's not a recession.
