I received an offer with Home Depot for a Senior Product Manager role. Home Depot does not quantify rsu with the offer; does anyone know or have an idea what they end up giving after signing? Base: 140k Bonus: 10%
Ask for a tool belt?
Austin? Or Atlanta?
My colleague worked as a PM in HomeDepot. He said that the place is super political and he could not stay there for more than 10 months and left
What was bad about it?
From the discussions I had with them, their product strategy and mental models didn’t make sense. They thought about the design of the shopping experience for 6 different personas, without much regard to how they overlap and the fact that everyone is going to the same place and you can’t design for 6 different personas without creating a mess. Also, they didn’t discuss the things that all customers care most about such as price, selection, quality, fast delivery, customer service, etc. They just discussed what the personas wanted. The way they judged the success of a PM didn’t make sense. One of the PMs I spoke with said he got great recognition for having multiple deployments in a small period. The PM wasn’t judged on customer or business impact, just the technical difficulty of the program. Maybe things have changed since, but seemed not inspiring. That being said, if you’re trying to break into the PM role it could be a good place to start to get some hands-on experience. It may also be better than your current experience and pay. Do what’s best for you. No one on Blind knows your situation or options. 👍🏻
Just coming out of a planning meeting and all that was discussed for 3 hours was how to improve customer service and satisfaction. So not sure why your friend said like that. could be a corner case, but my 5 years of experience with THD is all about customer satisfication
lol, they only tell you after you sign?
It is so weird but they say once you join the rsu is allocated and you would be able to see it in your account. I just wanna have an idea what that is.
just run away
