Peeps, i am home alone for holidays. Vacay plans with boyfriend didnt work out as he and me fought last minute, and hez gone to his hometown to spend time with his family. How can i cheer myself up ? Any ideas to spend time at home. (ps: please dont suggest porn, weed n stuff . looking for proper recommendations here)
Spend some fun time outdoors with family. Are you in cold area? Hit a ski slope, go sledding, snow tubing. In a warm area, go kayaking, hiking. Reconnect with nature, it can do wonders to your soul.

Find new bf or ask your doctor for proper drugs
You’re now in having fun alone business. So there aren’t many things unless u usually have things to do alone for fun. And u are gonna do it during holidays which are kinda bad timing. So be prepared for ur state of mind. - Cook then netflix and chill urself - Enjoy a whole empty theater if it’s open - Read what you planned forever to read but never get a chance - Call people you are not in touch for a long time but didn’t have time to contact in the past. Emails also work. - Plan for a kickass new year — new year resolutions remember? - Journaling, reflection of the past year, your relationship, why you guys fought, all sort of things to write about. It helps as self therapy - Plan to be healthier, wealthier, wiser — whatever that is That’s plenty. So I will end the list here. 🤗
🤗👍🏻 kickass indeed ! Thanks
Volunteer someplace - making/giving out food at a soup kitchen or church (even if you’re not religious I’m sure they’d be happy to have you), handing out presents to kids and people that can’t afford them It will make someone else happy, you happy, and give you some company. An alternative option is to just do a bunch of small nice deeds (pick up the meal for the next person in line, give extra nice tips at restaurants, compliment people who look like they could use some positivity, etc)
Have been meaning to try volunteering. I find little kids so much fun ( not ready yet for some of my own - but I am a great buddy to other ppl’s kids) . Probably any volunteering events involving kids would give me fun , I guess
100% I’m sure many places are short on help and would really appreciate your support!
Plan a solo trip 😊
Will do . Thanks !
This holiday season, I’ll be trying out new recipes for lunch and dinner, making pies I’ve never made before, catching up on books I recently bought, I just got a library card for the first time in my adult life so I can read at the New York Public Library by Bryant Park which looks like a castle, paying more attention to my house plants, working out at the gym, checking out holiday light shows in the area. Overall, doing things I normally don’t feel like I have time for when I’m working
Ooh ! Nice . Like them all !!! ☺️ Great going @hndubor . Did you make any recipes already ? .. any books bookmarked to read ?
Yes! Made baked tilapia filets and brussels sprouts with salad yesterday for dinner. Tonight I’m making meatloaf. I like making sweet potato pie, but I want to try making a really nice apple pie this week. Right now I’m reading “A Little Life” which is incredible so far. It is long and I’ve been reading it very slowly because of work, so looking forward to finishing it this week while I’m on vacation. Next on my book list: “The House of God”
Leetcode? (That's what I'm doing this week at home alone)
