Homeowner Relocation Amazon L6
I interviewed at Amazon for an L6 role which went quite well. As a home owner, I am curious what does the relocation package cover? Will it cover things like the 6% agent fees, and does Amazon buy the house at a preset price if the home does not sell in 90 days?
The package is a part of an offer, which might include what you are asking about. Once you receive the offer it will include the relocation options.
They offer a flat check you can take or a full service move. I took the full service move. Includes a trip to the relo site for you and family to find the place. Like a couple grand cash to fix up your current place if you own and are selling. A couple grand cash for your spouse to get career counseling or resume help to find a new job. Complete packing loading. Transport. Unpacking of all your crap. Will move cars. Even cash to reimburse for pet carriers and pet vaccines to fly on a plane. My whole package cost about 45k. Moved about 600 miles. 4 kids. One cat. A husband. Two cars and the entire contents of a 3500 square foot house. You get to pay taxes on the value next year.

Unless you have difficulty getting together a down payment for a new house, I’d recommend hiring a property management company and renting out your old home
HOA does not allow renting.

Hey there - I have an offer down the pike at Amazon too. I'm going to be relocated from DC to Seattle, so quite the move with a dog and spouse. How long did they give you until they expected you to start/move there? Are you starting the job prior to moving? I feel like I need at least 3 months grace before starting and settling in, but don't want to push it.
I hear you. My offer letter has a start date exactly a month after the acceptance deadline. I am going to stick to it and move my family later once we figure out kids schools, my wife’s job transfer etc..
I think the relocation benefits are good for a year, counting from your start date ^.^

Did they end up covering home sale? I know L5 does not and L7 does. Was curious for authoritative results on L6.
Sure. They will cover private school tuition for a year as well if you have any kids.
I think it’s two years for L6.
