I have recently interviewed few places and hootsuite and wayfair are the place I am almost at the end of the interview process. I’m on product design side and both of them are relatively similar role. I think wayfair role is probably one level higher. I am not sure about compensation yet. Hootsuite: senior manager Pro: full remote. Heard good work and life balance. Cons: they still hasn’t gone to public yet. Wayfair: associate director Pro: bigger team Cons: it is hybrid. For me remote is also important as I have young kids. Im wondering what the post carrier path look like? Hootsuite is SaaS and wayfair is e-com. I have been inconsulting last 10 years and my career skill was more toward generalists vs specialist. So I am curious about what the next career path look like depending on the company I choose. Any idea? Also What would you choose if you get both offers?
Would go anywhere in the world except Wayfair. Worked there before and it's just so shockingly horrible.
I'm surprised to see people pick wayfair. From what I know ther product teams are pretty messy and not ideal to work in. It's not as much as a focus as ops which is a big part of the org. Hootsutie sr manager is pretty much same as associate director (1 level lower than director). Pay should be relatively similar imo (without equity). Wlb hootsuite is def better. Equity is probably better with wayfir since it's public already, but some upside on hs if the do in the future (maybe when markets better)
Thanks for great insight!
Make it a poll. I'd choose anything over Wayfair. It's a shit show
Thanks! Just made it poll. Why not wayfair? Any experience to share?
