How can i get connected with recruiters?
I have an offer at one company and i’m trying to get other offers for a few reasons (seeing what else i could get, maybe negotiating or just going somewhere else). I have a connection at SAP, but he wants me to just tell him the position i applied to and he’ll refer me online. The issue is all the jobs online are for immediate hire and i graduate in May 2020 so i feel like they’ll laugh at me and think i dont know what im applying for. My connection is not an engineer and doesnt know the engineering recruiter. I also reached out to my schools career office and emailed the Capital One recruiting team but they also havent reached out yet. Any ideas on how i can better go about this?
Don't let the immediate hire thing deter you from applying now. They'll probably be wanting immediate hires next year, too. If you're qualified, interested, and what they're looking for, HR will want to talk with you, even if you're not available immediately.

Yoe: getting bachelors degree and have 4 software internships (total of 13 months) School is state school and gpa is 3.1 Current offer TC = ~ 100K in east bay.
Lol, it’s funny when people think internships are the same as on the job experience. I’d say those 13 months account for maybe 6 months of real experience.
Ask your connections if they can introduce you to anyone else within the company to talk more about the roles you’re interested in. You have to go into internal sales/self-promotion mode. Also go to networking events/meetups and walk up, shake hands, and get those recruiters added to your LinkedIn network. Ask them if they can introduce you to other recruiters. Be friendly/interested in their companies and open roles.
Capital One along with most companies will start their campus recruiting right as the school year starts.
