I’ve been applying and interviewing for the last month or so. In that time, I’ve fortunately been able to interview with some real strong brands, industry leaders. I investigate a little on the teams and all seem well educated, good universities, etc. The thing that stands out a lot to me are there are major companies out there using tech from the 80s/90s.

How could companies under value their operations so much? For example, a luxury car brand similar to Lexus, borderline working off manual written processes and logging.

I’ve been around Amazon Ops and have seen some of our most automated operations. Robotics that are steps away from full automation.

For other people in Ops, what are you thoughts with strong brand name companies with antiquated systems. Is it even worth the effort?
