got curious about this today
Most new hires are grad student. We can’t stress enough to interns to work first to get free education, but most entry lvl has masters. In contrary, not that many got grad degree among 10+ yrs exp employees
Most people at United have grad degrees
Assuming you're talking about corporate jobs... Most of our analysts just have an undergrad, but the majority of our managers have grad degrees.
Yup! I’d agree with that. Same with United.
I am a new hire who was interested in getting an advanced degree but was highly discouraged by director/VP level management..
Avoid that kind of leader like the plague. Either they don't know enough to understand the value of the degree or they do and they are purposely trying to retain you vs. develop you. I went back for an MBA and wound up increasing my salary by 50%. A leader that argues against that doesn't have your best interest at heart.
I was thinking this. It almost pushed me more to leave the company and pursue a full time degree. Thank you for confirming my thoughts!!
Free education and pensions are a relic at most companies, few have them anymore.
To be prepared for the competition when you’re trying to move up get a grad degree sooner than later. I have mine but I work for others do not and know of others in levels 5/mgr. + no undergrad. A good number of us obviously are waiting for 🦖🦕 to retire already. With networking, timing and luck anything is possible!
Most people don’t come in with a grad degree. Most people go for it while working for the company. They pay for it, so why not.
