Those people still don’t think MS is tier 1, what’s you realistic entry condition for MS to be tier 1? If MS reaches 2T or 2 times in market value as Google, will that be good enough? Or it is just impossible for MS to be tier 1 again? And its employees can never enjoy prestige and have to leave it? Add on: Market cap increase directly link to how much your stock is so as your compensation.
Tier has nothing to do with market cap. It's mostly about TC.
The market cap of the company is irrelevant to how good of a workplace it is. If I'm a Walmart greeter, I don't care that Walmart is a huge dominant company in its space. I care about the work I get to do and the pay I get for it. Microsoft can become Tier 1 by doubling comp and being more engineering-driven. That simple.
I love Microsoft so much and enjoyed my time working there. Not a big fan of the “tiers” thing, but if I had to give my opinion then it would be this: Tier isn’t about market cap. It is about your experience as an employee, e.g: TC, benefits, perks, culture, impact, growth, wlb, etc.
The entire concept of tiers is rediculous
Pay on the level of G and FB and add in free food. It's that simple
Pay matters. MS does not make the cut unless you are 65+
If you think Uber and AirBnb are higher tier than Microsoft, you're just riding a wave.
What do you mean?
It’s also their products. I don’t use any MS products, but I do use FAANG daily Correction I do use LinkedIn daily Imo there’s a strong correlation between meaningful work and using the products/tools you work on.
If you use Azure hosted sites aren't you indirectly using it? This is the argument Amazon folks make.
Lol as if every-time I use a toilet I think of the water supply company or the plumbing that was used
Stop worrying about prestige so much. Just focus on being happy and fulfilled.
I think once they pay as well as other t1 companies. The offer I got from Microsoft was a joke
OCI is good pay but it is not tier 1.
Amazon shouldn't be following your logic
