I have been prepping for FAANG interview for about 5 months now. Hope to start applying in 3 months. When did you know you were ready to start interviewing? TC: £60K YOE: ~3 Update: I have been studying for 1-2hrs a day. I work full time 9-5 & just moved to London. Also I don’t have a CS background. Self talk taught programmer coming from a 3rd world country I think I have done well for myself but I cannot stop there. Not only am I studying for interviews, I also see this as my further education to fill knowledge gaps. I actually started with Maths/discrete maths, studied that for over a month. I am using EPI, it looks slow because I am studying one chapter a week. Understand it thoroughly before I move on. Had a few breaks in between though. Currently on chapter 15. Also applying in 3months because I plan to stay at my current company for at least 1 year.
5 months of studying and you're still pushing it off 3+ months? good lord.
Give Op a break will you? Maybe Op only have 1 hour per day to spare? Good lord.
sure, let's assume 1 hour a day (although let's be honest here, op probably has enough fat to trim off his busy life to spare at least 1 hour a day for interview prep). 8 (5 + 3) months of studying for 1 hour a day is about 240 hours of studying, that's like someone prepping as if it was a full time job for 6 weeks, which just tells me op is not studying efficiently at all.
Have you interviewed with companies that have similar interview structure? Start with something like Uber (I think theirs is similar to FB)... see how it goes.
I didn't prepare. Still got the job.
I’d ask myself this question - are you good enough to nail the interview on a bad day? If not, leetcode more
Don't forget the best way to practice interviewing is (surprise surprise) interviewing.
I was always ready. They weren't willing to interview me before.
It was written in the stars ! Wait, you're in England so you won't see them. Nevermind...

I didn't. I did the interview fully expecting to get rejected. Got news from the recruiter that I'd be receiving an offer just 2 hours after the last interview.
