Canceling debt isn’t inflationary or costing tax payers
Asking for my gf, she works at an oilfield service company's innovation center in bay area. It seems like it's difficult for her to land interviews at recognizable places like Snap, Uber, etc. #swe #engineering Wondering how is it like for you guys? She is frontend swe if that matters, which probably has fewer demands than generalist swes. Even referrals don't work for her btw
Yeah, cold applications have very low results. But if you polish resume and linkedin and network and have some XP you can get an interview.
Applying to companies doesn't help. I don't get a call from most tier1/2/3 that way. But recruiters reach out and are happy to interview me or referrals
Why, does recruiter get less $$$ from online/referral apps?
I work at a very small unknown start up and didn't have trouble getting interviews at Google, LinkedIn, Meta, Amazon, Uber, etc. Those are the ones which I actually went to interview with. There are countless more who reached out but I didn't get back. My #1 tip would be to work on your resume and LinkedIn profile, make them look more attractive, or even better tailor resumes based on the role. Also, try reaching out to recruiters or getting referrals rather than just cold applying
How did you get interviews? Did you apply on their careers page?
Most of them were from recruiters reaching out to me themselves. Some were from LinkedIn job applications.
