How do levels work at Microsoft
What determines if you get placed as a 60,61,62, etc? Is this pre determined by the role the recruiter is trying to fill or does it depend on your performance in the interview? Im targeting 63/2 how realistic is that with 4 yoe TC: 108k 4 YOE

It’s typically the role. 63 is unlikely for 4 yoe.

Never negotiate on level. Negotiate on TC. It's a relative performance system.

It depends on the company you’re coming from and the level you were there. It is likely they’ll give you 61 at msft but I wouldn’t bet you’ll get much higher given your current company and yoe.
