I was recently contacted by a recruiter from one of the FAANG companies. I was wondering how she randomly reached out to me because I probably had nothing standing out in my profile. This makes me curious on what attributes recruiters use to find suitable candidate and filter. Also, what makes the profile standout, there are literally 1000s of candidates with almost similar job profile as mine.
They do a search based on some criteria and spam all the people who show up. They will look at profiles of people who reply and then forward their resumes
If you’re an engineer then they’ve probably reached out to like a thousand. It literally takes that much to hire one. Recruiters use Boolean logic to search for people on LinkedIn, google, twitter, and other sites
What is Boolean logic ? I mean I know what Boolean is, but how do they use it for searching? Just skills if exist or not ?

I mean you search for "software engineer", send inmails/messages to bunch of random ones..based on location or whatever or nothing. What's so difficult about that? I'm 6 yr old nephew can do that.
They reached out to the other 1000 already
Well yes but actually no. Would Facebook/Google reach out to all the SDEs of other companies?
Doesn't LinkedIn have recommendations features for recruiters? My experience with LinkedIn is that they recommend anything.
