Amazon was really fast and now getting impatient (after 3 weeks). Microsoft dragging their feet, Facebook results are not in for another week. Microsoft wants to make offer the last and wants fast decision. Startups want me to make decision faster and keep calling/selling their "vision". It's stressing me out. How do you coordinate offers and recruiters?
Curious - why are trying to leave Google?
Congrats in your Amzn offer... is this a level up offer from G to A? For SWE? Just trying to understand in what situation anyone would consider move from G to Amzn because most people here prefer G to any other place.
No. That is why probably not accepting Amazon.
Shit or get off the pot. Time kills deals. Where do you want to be?
Start from the last company in your list. Get an offer from them. Then pass those offer figures to the other companies higher up on the list before they give you the first figure. By the time you reached the company you are most keen about they'll have to give the highest
Thanks. That was the plan. But some companies don't want to make offer until everyone is on the table
Bluff the initial number. Make up some reasonable TC that you know half the companies will match. Also do verbal jujitsu to go from 'competing TC' to 'acceptable TC'. I did that in my practice nego. Eventually the company I was bluffing on its TC reached the bluffed value, so the bluff becomes the truth!
What happens when you sign an offer and then you get a better deal from another company
You act like an adult who knows how to make decisions and live with the consequences. Only you know what you can live with and what will keep you up at night.
Where do YOU wanna be?
Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon in that order
