How do you deal with a colleague that doesn’t show up?

I am leaving the firm soon and a colleague has been named my successor. I’m supposed to be leading knowledge transfer sessions with him (he is 20 years my senior). Problem is he doesn’t show up. He has also been offline all day.
How am I supposed to help “pass the baton” if there isn’t anyone to pass it to? Hate to toot my own horn, but the team is going to be screwed for the first few weeks w/out me.
I am going to speak to my lead about this. Anything else I can do? Also, how do these people get jobs? I don’t get it... please advise

Tell your manager about the issue but that's it.
Guy is on his way to retirement. He’ll be fine.
