Just curious how do you guys liquidate your equity from pre IPO startup. Or its just a paper money. Is there high demand for that equity in market.
Uber used to do share buyback from employees. Else you can sell in secondary markets although some companies don't allow it.
Paper money until liquidation event. Events listed in order of most likely for those companies: 1. IPO 2. Acquisition 3. Buyback program
Secondary market. Never did it, but there are a bunch of companies that are willing to do so. Google it and don’t ask ppl from public companies. They are biased, especially to confirm that they did the right choice of not joining pre-IPO company.
I think there is a way, never did full research
There's a fuck ton of restrictions set but company since private buyers can't be competitors or people that might want to get more voting rights. So ya you can't really broker a sale on your own lmao
Not really 2 of my friend got into Fb this year from same org. And there are probably 100s gone to AMZN. I dont know personally anyone who went to Uber though.
It's paper money.
