For finance, do you apply for jobs on LinkedIn or use it as a stalking tool? Do you post your own ideas or share news to the timeline?
To perform background check on someone that I encountered in a meeting or networking event lol. Or to see who got a new job or promotion. It is also useful to network with in house recruiters.
Stalk my old high school crushes and bullies
Lmao too relatable
Mainly stalking tool to see what my old colleagues are upto ... I've also used it to apply for jobs since I like its layout better than other job sites for browsing through open positions.
M&A; a year ago, it was only for job searching and was gonna delete the account once I got a job but now using it for searching for potential buyers for deals mostly
I am not too active on LinkedIn. Some recruiters contact me there and I guess it feels nice. I get contacted by people who want to get into management consulting and I would help them if possible. Then I guess it is a good tool to follow your network and what is going on around you
Definitely leaning towards a stalking tool for me
Use it for finding job postings, then find a connection at the company. Def use it as a stalking tool. Don’t post or read the posts bc I find it to be too localized (and not targeted). I sometimes share news but only if it’s a bigger company announcement. It’s great for digging on a person’s history, or getting a prelim idea of org structure. LinkedIn inbounds are great for recruiting since they’ve seen your background.
Oh man, I love LinkedIn. A LinkedIn page tells you a lot about a person. I use it to: Stalk people I meet, estimate their TC Stalk people on dating apps, estimate their TC Stalk people my friends know to target my networking Stalk people who work where I'm applying to see what the team is like, how I would stack up against them, what questions I might get asked, how fast people seem to get promoted, internal mobility Find people I would potentially want to work for Find people who I can get a referral from Job postings and contacting recruiters
Mainly to slide into DMs and pick up recruiters’ numbers. Then jobs keep flowing I to your Dm
