Got an apple offer for ICT4. ~200 TC. I performed well in the interview as they appear to be jumping through hoops to get me to agree to a much lower salary. But this offer is unacceptably low. I truly do not understand how this is possible. I work at Amazon and with their notoriety for underpaying people I thought It would be fairly straightforward getting a higher offer from apple. Why do people work at apple? Is this a normal apple salary for product manager? Is it really just the brand? Edit - Uhh I seem to have struck a nerve with the super siq and very smart genius blinders. Real high IQ, all of you but that’s just my opinion. Just want to be super clear I am a WOMAN. You really shouldn’t assume people are men in the year of our lord Jesus Christ 2022. #apple Current TC = 300 4 YOE
Product discounts
LOL, it's only 25%, it's hardly better than the 10% discount at Amazon as an employee that nets you $100! You can already get a 15% discount on Apple products easily, so effectively it's the same net 10% discount!
I wish people had a better understanding of what sarcasm is.
I don’t need your negative comments. Please go away if you’re not going to be helpful. I’m very well aware of the market values for these roles. Also says the person working at SAP. Boomer company much?
My comment is the most helpful of the entire thread, I assure you. And making several times your TC at said boomer company, thanks.
all the high salaries you hear about are for either SWE or RS.
In general maybe but this is still lower than what’s on levels by a lot
What is RS?
I assume you are working in US.. Do they ask for your salary expectations/ current salary at the start of the interview process ? Or during at later stage ?
They didn’t ask until I was offered. I told them 350 and they came back with this.
So they don't have info about your current salary .. just salary expectations ? If yes , then I think they can quote whatever they want and find any reason to justify it.
Why as a PM , would you expect a salary range of SWE?
I would guess they’re a PM at Amazon and would expect a higher TC at Apple for the same role, especially given that Apple is a product company.
Makes sense, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s not for an SWE role right
Location is also a factor seems reasonable for Austin(above median for Dell/ Visa)
It's still well below Amazon Austin. People get offers for 300k to move to Austin to start as an L5 SDE-II.
I’m 324K at Amazon in Dallas. They’re putting out great offers in Austin and Dallas now.
Most Apple employees are shills who would work there for free.
Sure. Most apple engineers who have been there +5 years are multi millionaires
I wish. Maybe 1 million but not more.
Yoe 4 at 300k TC, lucky you… kiddo’s are just so funny… lol
Spoiled is the word you're looking for
Spoiled and ungrateful lol.
Hard to ask for engineering comp when your not doing engineering work. Your best bet is to just stay at Amazon.
That’s not an ICT4 salary
It may be. It has a wide range.
