How are candidates ranked at Google? Let's say a candidate (Alice) is a Senior SWE at her current company and she has 6 years of experience. When she applies to Google for a SWE position, how will she be ranked? Will she be treated as a L3 or L4 level candidate? Or maybe higher? Let's say now that she is considered as a candidate for L4 level. If she won't perform good enough for L4, will she still get an offer for L3 (if she performed good enough for L3)? Or she won't get an offer at all?
Most likely l4. Only reason for l3 is if the recruiter was trying to fuck you and get u in on the cheap
It’s not recruiters call is it? I thought HC determines level
Depends on where she was a senior swe. First company I worked at gave senior swe titles to the managers friends on joining.
Most likely she will be targeted at L5 during onsite interviews. The system design round will mostly decide if she receive a L4 or L5 offer.
