How does Plaid make money?

I'm expecting an offer from them. How do they make money? Want to understand how overvalued are they with the current valuation and can their volume of payments scale to match the valuation.

I know they're the middleware to securely transfer money, looking for something more.

    They stopped scraping and have deals with big banks to leverage APIs. Lots of articles on that. They are key in enabling a ton of use cases. I think it’s a safe bet to take an offer there.

    Every time a user enters their bank info, Plaid scrapes every piece of info from your accounts including every transaction. Then they monetize/sell that data to third parties.

      Plaid has established direct APIs with banks these days (vs. screen scraping). They definitely do not sell data either. You can even go to my.plaid.com to see what you’ve shared.

      Yes, Plaid uses user data to develop new insights. However, nowhere does it say that those insights are sold.
