Little bit of a story time from a person who never thought about getting a job in big N. Skip to tl;dr if not interested. Recently I was at Amazon hiring event and did fairly decent compared to amount of preparation I've managed to get before the on-site interview. I've never even thought about being able to actually make it to on-site but here I am. Recruiter reached me about 1 month ago and I didn't even knew where to start to begin with. I honestly thought I would fail even online assessment and/or phone round. On top of that, imagine someone who never actually went abroad and never used English to speak face to face (only in remote environments like Skype). Even though I understood like 80% (still have issues understanding certain accents) and no problems expressing myself, the amount of anxiety was above my mind. Come on, I almost never left my apartments in my entire life, I can get lost even where I currently live... OK, so I did good enough on OOP, general problem solving and even system design, but I've snapped on a simple leetcode problem (medium difficulty) that exercises just math and strings. And I was preparing for things like BST, graphs, dynamic programming... just hope I can improve my leetcode skills and re-apply later. tl;dr Anyway, they told me I can improve my skills and re-apply in 6 months. Does that mean I need to email same recruiter again? Or I must have to do it through the website? Do you still have to do online/phone rounds again on every re-application or it would be possible to skip straightforward to the on-site interview on subsequent tries? Any input would be welcome. Thanks.

For interviewing again at Uber, I'll hit up with my friend that currently works there (for another referral)+ my former recruiter. I'd just ask if/when you reply or get to chat about the decision. I'm hoping they will just take me back onsite as well.
Actually I've already been rejected, next day after the interview. But I was stupid and didn't prepare follow-up questions. I think I'll just send an email to clarify. Thank you.
