I have been offered a position at Google Kirkland as a contractor via a 3rd party. Contract is for 10 months. How easy or hard it is to convert to a Full time. The position currently offered is at Google Technical Services team as Developer Support Specialist 3. I currently work as Sdet at Amazon as a contractor.
I heard it's unlikely
Pretty difficult. If you were there for more than a year in a non support role, then I would say it is worth it. I've seen contract PMs become FTEs at Kirkland. You might go for the Google experience on your resume, but they will always treat red badges differently. Majority of the MTV contractors finish their assignment and never get FTE roles despite having great skills and a good review from their managers. That said, you can get Googlers to refer you on GHire but beyond the phone screen, it won't be of much help. What 3rd party company is it with?
Side question - which vendors provide contract PMs at Google Kirkland or Seattle?
Google is now disallowing any FTE conversion of vendors and contractors. If you want to become FTE, you'll need to apply via careers.google.com like everyone else.
This. Light interview process is gone
They've asked me twice to go FTE over last 6 months, met with another team yesterday that wants me FTE too. Very light interview process. (ux design for ref)
Is this true they disallow contractors to convert?
Unfortunately, this is true as of 2016. Contractors that want to become full-time Googlers will need to apply as external candidates. I heard there may be exceptions but those have to be approved at the VP level.
Dont do it.
Reason?
