I really want to work at a large tech company like Google or Facebook and I’m worried thag if I dont get an internship there next year, I won’t be able to work there for a while. I know in most cases, the internship interviews are 2 45 min phone screens (+ host matching for G), but if I apply new grad there are several difficult onsite interviews as well. this whole thing has me so damn stressed and I feel like my career depends on what I can land for next summer. Also has anyone done an internship at F or G the summer after they graduated to get their foot in the door the easier way, then convert to FT right after?

Intern still need to do onsite to convert, success rate at that point is 50% but it's after the pre internship screening, so I'm not sure it helps that much...
Yup forgot that some companies do that. Facebook doesn’t though so I guess this mostly applies to that
Yes was talking for Google, I have no experience with FB
How many lc have you done?
128 Can do easies in <5 mins most of the time and mediums in 20-30 mins depending on topic (DP and backtracking are more like 7 hours lol but I haven’t started studying those heavily yet) and I can do some of the easier hards in like 45-1 hour but there are a lot of them I can’t do at all
Good. You need at least 300+ I’ve seen a person with 1K but still failed G. Good luck.
FYI, Google Interns are still required to go through two-three more rounds of interviews after their internship in order to convert to full-time so, there.
Yup forgot about that. I feel like that’s really dumb though like wasn’t that the point of the whole internship to see if they are ready for full time?
FB is the best place to intern not only for the internship experience but also the return full time offer which is based on your performance without any interviews.
You can get in after graduation, its not an end all be all. Just study what youre weak on. Also you’re not allowed to do an internship at F or G if youre not in school so you wouldnt be able to do what you suggested
What if I’m graduating a year early can I just say December 2021 instead of May and say “I was able to complete my degree in May instead” or would they revoke an offer (I’d say this like a few weeks before grad long after an offer would be made)
No the application itself will ask if you’re returning to school after. During my internship i was talking to a recruiter and she misunderstood and thought i meant i graduated already and after clearing things up she said “ oh okay we would have some issues if you had haha”. Also the conversion process takes time as well as team matching so you wouldnt be able to just convert to ft and start working even if there was no rules on school.
I never had internship at Google but I heard in order for you to convert to full-time you need two internships there. Otherwise you still need to get interviewed (maybe not a full round though).
Oh true I forgot about that
