I'm going to onsite interview to Audible, NJ soon. How is work and work culture? Are interviews same level as Amazon? Is it easy to switch to Amazon in future? How is commute from Manhattan? Recruiter straightforwardly told me they are gonna pay me 160K(base) + 40K(RSUs). Is there any room for negotiation? Would appreciate any info regarding audible. Thanks! #interview #amazon #audible #salary 170K 6YOE
Have heard the culture and experience in the newark office is great. Have a few friends who work there. All the best for your interviews. Checkout lc audible tagged. Assuming you are going for sde. Let us know how it was.
Indeed find out the level or post job link Sounds low for 6yoe if it’s sde2 If it’s sde1 it’s high but you shouldn’t take a position at that level. I know couple of ex audibles Said it’s nice but progress there is slow. The location is a shithole. Straight up. Nothing to do around there and the area is a bunch of parking lots , old buildings and the uscis 😂 Transfer to amazon afterwards is trivial
Thanks for the info! I'm gonna ask recruiter about the level. I feel like recruiter is low balling me but I didn't ask too many questions as I haven't even interviewed yet. I will post the experience once I go onsite
Would appreciate an update OP! I plan on applying as well and want to know what to expect
Haven't yet taken it. moved it to couple of weeks later
What tech are you working on?
So I’m not in the tech org but I do think that Audible is going through an upheaval right now. The CPO just left, there’s a new CEO, and the founder/Executive Chairman, the cause of most of the problems of the last few years, is still way too involved. Most people I know are looking for an out because they’re sick of the politics and nothing ever getting done.
What do you know about the CPO leaving? Was it his choice or pushed out as part of new CEO re-org?
Rumor has it he was unhappy to be jumped over for CEO by an outsider. He and the CMO were jockeying for position but they had no clue that a new CEO was even a consideration until it was happening.
How was the interview
I ended up interviewing with different org in Amazon. One of my colleagues interviewed there recently. He said LP is only the hard part.
what level at amazon? did you get an offer? what was the reason to not interview at audible?
I did get offer from Amazon. I'm looking to relocate to Seattle. Audible is good if your looking for WLB but pay might be bit less than Amazon
I didn't end up taking the onsite. I heard its 4 rounds focused more on leadership principles. LC easy/mediums.
Could someone refer at audible ?
I worked at Audible for 3 years. The work life balance and perks are way better than Amazon. The interviews are the same level. It's easy to switch to Amazon later. Commute is ok. Are you getting L4 or L5?
If you switch to Amazon, do you get a new compensation package? I’m wondering if the Audible compensation is the same as Amazon
