Got an offer from BIS. Pay is really dependent on your location and region. Compensation is tax free which is a huge benefit. Benefits are decent and the pension plan acts as a very nice annual bonus. At grade E you can expect to make around 200k USD (tax free). The pension is close to 20 percent of your annual salary paid in a lump sum at the end of your contract term. The culture might blow and the work may be boring/slow but the compensation is definitely not bad.

The place is truly a cesspit. From a technology perspective, they're in the stone ages. The people who call the shots as far as tech stacks and product direction are non-technical people who get all their information from vendor brochures. As a tech in that place, you're at the bottom of the heap. They offer 3 year fixed-term, renewable contracts for all employees, but they boot out techs after 3 years because they want people "with the latest skills". They're morons.
