Job offer $25k/ yr over current TC, but all base/bonus. Current TC includes equity held as RSUs on a vesting schedule. Both remote.

Personal- Not into sports, not a gym rat. Am I going to feel like an outsider, or is is actually pretty chill?

Edit to add: This is a legit question. I am not a fan of things like overblown “wellness challenges” and other office “fun activities” where you have to track fitness/ exercise/ miles/ steps to participate. If that kind of stuff is constant I’m going to hate it.

Current job has better pto, double the holidays, great wlb, on the fence.

My suggestion: A bit low for a job change.i usually aim for atleast 20% above current total compensation. If you really hate your current job then take it .

50% of bonus is dependent on your athleticism. You must show excellence in any two sports of your choice one of which must be a team sport like soccer etc. :)

It might sound like a dumb question, but it’s sincere. If all the office banter is 100% sports all the time and there are a lot of “wellness challenge” activities/ incentives pushed on everyone in the name of “team building,” I don’t think I’d love the office culture. Based on some culture fit issues in the past for me, this is an actual concern that I have.

Nike is chill. Show up before the manager arrives and leave after. They are into selling shoes and apparel.

It’s choose your own adventure. If you are into sports and wellness it’s great at supporting that. You don’t have to participate if you don’t want to, no one cares. Different teams have different cultures but if you are remote it doesn’t matter anyway. A lot of business communication and initiatives are sports centered, using sports language, so if that is going to annoy you then maybe it’s not the best place for you. Nike does focus on selling product but it is not the only thing, unlike above comments. Sports are central to what Nike does and I welcome anyone to spend time at another retailer that is not an athletic company to notice the difference.

The point is to make a connection so offer a different way to make a connection. “You know, I don’t really play sports! But I really like / I spend a lot of my free time (watching basketball / collecting Jordans / playing with my kids / trying out new recipes / playing Madden / gardening / building robots / traveling / whatever).” The person is just trying to be friendly.

Sports is not emphasized on my team at all. Also I left Indeed for Nike and have been happy with that decision
