I haven't heard much about Palantir in a while. How is the company doing? Is talent level/hiring bar still high? Work interesting? Is WLB still really bad? Also curious what a compensation package looks like for ~ 2 yoe SWE in Seattle.
Pretty great if you like building tech for the surveillance state and aggressive police forces.
The last time I heard Saruman went to the dark side using it
They are in forward deployment mode.
Pretty poor, lots of snowflakes who spend more time being offended by others existence than developing their product
Sure - go sell your soul to further empower over reaching state sponsored surveillance. Thatโs a great idea ๐
Offers typically come with two different options: higher base and lower equity or lower base and higher equity. For Seattle with 2 YOE I would expect somewhere around $135k-$165k and 30k-60k stock options. You should know however that there is no official stack ranking system in place that you might be more familiar with at other companies.
Are there plans to go public? I think I heard comments in the past where investors didnโt care about exit. How do you value your equity in that case?
I have also read this- that there's no plans to ever ipo due to potential for losing contracts as a public company. In that case are options effectively worthless? I've also heard of palantir offering buying back options yearly but I've seen people say this only goes up to around 10% of your options
All depends on whether trump throws peter thiel a bone or not.
Valuable experience as an SDE, but as FDE, your technical skills will atrophy.
Dangerous! Not all of the ancient seeing stones are accounted for....
