How is TikTok Ads team?

Got pinged by recruiter. Would like to hear BD/TT people’s input and opinion. Btw I’m Chinese.

  • Dont know about ads specifically, but a lot of teams have poor wlb. I personally have a good manager and work around 50hrs a week

      50hr per week is definitely acceptable. I work longer than that at FB.

    • Yea, I think you should at least interview and see how you like the manager, ask how often they interact with the china team, and avg hrs a week worked.

      I personally chose tt/bd over fb, g, etc because I think the IPO has a lot of potential and I am willing to sacrifice some wlb for money. If 50-60 hrs a week is okay with you, then definitely join!

  • Don’t join. I can’t wait to leave after my 1 year mark. Still have 6 months to go, but I’m literally counting down the days.

      That’s exactly the problem G&F has. Waze CEO has a post on this topic recently. People in Corp Tech only cares promotion and don’t care about the product. I’m surprised that this problem is also in BD/TT. Probably it’s too big as well.

      Also I have an impression that BD/TT has a high bar, I heard it gets people from FG. Why the hires couldn’t get offers elsewhere? Bar is actually low?

      What? That’s an insane number. Is 2000 engineering team? Or sales and marketing included? I don’t think there are 2000 engineers working on ads in many major Corp tech companies.
