How is WLB at Hubspot? Especially for a senior dev?
I recently got an offer for a senior position. Wondering how WLB is. Is it really "unlimited" PTO?

  • Unlimited PTO is a scam everywhere, generally. You eventually end up taking lesser number of leaves since no one is sure what is the appropriate number. Also they don't have to pay you for unused paid leaves

I’ve only had unlimited PTO at HubSpot and this has not been my experience. I take 5-6 weeks of vacation each year plus about 2 weeks of random long weekends throughout the year. Honestly I’m not even sure because no one is counting. The process for taking a vacation is just let your team know, there’s no sort of tracking system or request process.

I love behind able to just take time off whenever I want not worrying about how many days I have available. I have no interest in going back to limited PTO.

I've seen people take about 4 weeks/yr. They're hiring like crazy though, so a culture shift could be in the works if they bring in too many Amazon managers 🍌 There's also a lot of on-call depending on the org. But overall as it stands now, I've only heard good things.
