Ok, I've lived in the Bay Area for awhile now, and worked at a handful of startups. Maybe it's my fault for not knowing how to negotiate, but the numbers I see people throwing out here (and complaining about) is a bit unreasonable. Why are so many people on Blind chasing after that $ and unhappy? Anybody else get not chiming in and think all these conversations are a bit ridiculous?
What is wealthfront?
Just another "the Uber of X" startup
Except it’s not. Betterment is eating their lunch.
You know it is expensive here...
people are unhappy because it suck to pay so mich on rent/mortgage. One would think with that high TC it should be easy to purchase a home. Real state prices make people unhappy
In Ca...live somewhere else and you are just fine
Think it’s the mentality of “I don’t want to be taken advantage of”. Long time ago I didn’t put too much thought into my compensation, figured it was fair compared to other folks. Little did I know back then just how wide a company is willing to go for same grade level. Believe me son, don’t be that naive guy. If you’re not looking out for yourself most likely you’re getting phucked by the company.
As others said: GTFO unless you give us TC!
save and invest and your money will make money for you
It’s about tiers.
In general you will be happy in a place been underpaid until you realize you are. Until you know other companies pay more or your coworkers which may be less capable make more. At that point you will care and be less happy.
Tc or...
Compared to the general conversation here - LOW
How much? I thought Wealthfront would pay well.
