What is the work culture like? Salary compensation for management position, what is the interview process like? Just trying to get as much info as possible. I have recently applied to FANG companies but I am VERY interested in working at Blizzard. I love their products, the e-sport scene, and it is a romanticized dream of mine to work there. Any tips?
Game industry can be rough
The culture is going to vary depending on which dept / team you are looking to join. Overall, great company culture...but the day to day is going to vary quite a bit based on what team you get yourself on. Comp is generally lower than what you would expect elsewhere...this is the "Blizzard tax" you pay for getting to work at an awesome company.
Could not agree more, a lot of times you have to go into "crunch mode", but personally it is worth it in the end when you see and play a freaking awesome game.
What would my chances be if I have a background in Digital Advertising? I have created some nice content and done quite a few projects for Blizzard through the company that I work for. Blizzard once reached out and said they really liked the stuff we (I) created and wanted to work with us directly. But we had to decline due to client policy. Any advice on what team or department I should send my resume to? I have 15 years experience divided between front end developer and manager. Technical Lead for the past years.
Have you considered Riot? Good pay/culture
I actually have a good contact at Riot! I didn't consider yet because my childhood dream has been to work at Blizzard!
Riot has a lot of good people but suffers with pressure on just a single title. Pay is higher but I’m not sure culture translates to everyone’s liking
How is valve compared to blizzard
Play Starcraft.
Played Terran for 20 years. Beat some top players, been in finals against top Koreans. :)
Say that in resume and you are in
