Indians are 18% of world populations getting 30% of the green cards every year. If this shit passes then probably 80% of GC will be for those 18% world populations. How the fuck is that fair? They have abused the H1B with their low skilled ICC workers, created this pit and now want RoW follow to the same pit?
Why are you even worried about s386?
What about Indians in G/Fb working as swe do you think they deserve to get gc in reasonable time??
Yes they deserve. But most people in India's line aren't from FAANG are they? They are imported ICC products. They don't deserve a GC.
Thats a ridiculous argument: so people from Intel which is not FAANG do you think they should not get a GC, how do you distinguish between different tech companies.
Everyone wants a GC, it's nothing about fair. It's working in favor of ROW so they are happy. It will work for Indians, they will be happy and other will complain. It's how the world works. A SDE-3 at FANG doesn't get GC for 50 years but a new grad from Bangladesh working at consultancy gets GC, how is this fair? For diversity, there is diversity visa. This is EB category and Indians and any majority are not eligible for diversity visa. Then there is family based immigration. FYI - EB visas are only 14% of GC USA issues, 86% are family or diversity or other categories. So don't worry about diversity, EB stands for Employment-Based not diversity based.
https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/senate-bill/386 Have you even read this? It is literally nothing about Indians. It reduces the overall cap and an offset that affected Chinese.
🤣
You wouldn't dare talking about DACA/DAPA (which is not even a Congressional bill) and post pictures of crowds of hard working people here. You people seem to think it's okay to smear indians . Because they are here legally and asking for a bipartisan bill(not an executive order like DACA/DAPA) to speed up permanent residency.
Which Indian rejected you on Tinder which explains this angst ?
I met a number of very fine Indian girls...
That is inaccurate. Every country gets capped at 7% of total green cards available per category. US allocates 140K EB category green cards per year. Which means 70K indians got their green cards per year. That is not true. Please show citation for your claim.
India is not a person. How is it fair that someone born there has lower chances of getting a green card? You can make a lot of valid points for country quotas, but fairness is not one of them.
You're implying that someone from those 192 countries should have higher chances because of where they were born. That doesn't sound fair to me...
Every country gets capped at 7% of green cards per year regardless of their population. How did you come up with indians getting 30% of green cards per year claim. Why is that I see a lot of misinformation campaigns against indians in blind.
7% in each category. I meant total combined in all categories
Spillovers. The rest of the whole planet Earth does not apply enough people to exhaust their cap, and unused places go to Indians. Here are 2017 stats showing India got 17% of employment based green cards (23500 of 137500): https://www.dhs.gov/immigration-statistics/yearbook/2017/table10 The reason is H1B of course, every year RoW countries use it less and less, so there is simply nowhere for more RoW people to come from. Only L1 still remains usable but if s386 passes it will become pointless too.
Your question is flawed..do you want fair process for issuing Green cards or just want to stop Indians? I am all for a good screening process for green cards..but I am sure that will not eliminate the problem of too many Indian applicants ..what then? suspect the pro
I am all for GC for employees in FAANG and foreign talent. But most of the people hogging GC line aren't from FAANG. they are from ICC who abused H1B with multiple petition, bribes and what not. I don't want to fall in a pit because of those people.
Then your plan is Indians from FAANG should fall in that pit because they are from the same country and you are okay with it as longg as you dont fall in the same pit
It's not about 'fair', it's about who has the best lobbying. Is it fair that those people were born in a country that couldn't offer much and they had to leave their families behind to get here? 'Fair' is not how the world works.
I don't understand why CoB privileged RoW is so scared to stand in line? Don't you have any skills apart from CoB?
ROW has ALWAYS been in the line created for them by law. You ruined your own line and now want to take theirs with condescending impunity. Do you think all the skilled people in the world come from India? Give us a break please.
