Any word on their NYC office?
Our restaurants, retail, and cash have teams in NYC. It's a nice office, very quiet. Pay band is the same in NYC as SF. They don't have a cafeteria but you get up to $15 expensible for lunch everyday (tax fringe benefit though so you pay ~35% of the price). Which is amazing and let's you get a full meal in the city for lunch.
Thatās dope. Iād prefer to work in NYC but if they have no SWE positions here I could move
We are always looking for good people to join us!I am sure everyone here would be happy to help you.
Let me interview!
Itās been awesome - get your work done. Nobody is clocking you in or out. And most teams are flexible about where you work.
That is so fucking awesome ugh. Iām probably gonna apply.
Interviewed, awaiting onsite Also a Bloomberg recruiter hit me up. How is it over there?
I'm sure there are teams with more pressure than mine, maybe the product teams, but I think it's great. I work 8-9 hours a day, so does my manager. One thing I really like compared to Google is how open people are to letting people not in their team work on their codebase if something needs to get done, so there's not so much waiting for PMs and managers to approve the thing that's blocking you.
Hey, were you at Google before? Iād love to check out Square. Pay, perks, benefits? How are they?
Pay is less than google at initial offer but our stock is appreciating much faster than Goog. No cash bonuses and our refreshers aren't anywhere close though. However, because of stock appreciation pay becomes better than Goog fairly quick. It's a gamble whether it'll keep up but we just did a 68% YoY adj revenue for q3. Perks/benefits are good, but hard to compare to Google/Facebook. We'll have 4k 401k matching next year but we have ESPP which both G/F don't have. We do have flexible time off and you really don't have anyone questioning you for < 6 weeks vacation a year. It's nice to not have to Penny pinch your vacation. Just take it off whenever you want within reason.
