Does it really effective ? Or Tech Recruiters are the best way to apply ? Or may be sending resume to the hiring mgr by your friend ? Perspective - QC : send resume to hiring mgr is the best option.
Works very well if you know someone and they can forward your resume to the hiring manager directly. Have your contact submit a referral internally and then you go ahead and apply to reqs you like. In the mean time if your contact can forward your resume to the hiring manager and the recruiter, it will speed up the whole process.
Referrals at Apple have been pretty useless
A referral will get your resume seen by the hiring manager. Otherwise it’s a full interview with the same expectations as normal. Shit we fail people on internal transfers
Thanks folks for sharing the info. What do you guys suggest : 1. Ask friend to send to the hiring mgr, or 2. Connect to the recruiter and get the process going forward My friend might not know the hiring mgr though. Please share your thoughts.
Seemed to work ok for me, at least got my resume seen by a hiring manager. I believe the referring person gets some cash bonus as well
Depends on the job they are trying to fill and internal HR promos. In general it will range from $3000 to $500, with exception for specific high end jobs that can go higher than $3000..
