Best you would end up at is a big bank. You could still aim for Google (maps), atlassian and Amazon (aws) in Sydney.
Isn't Atlassian there?
Israel is comparable to America. Everywhere else is garbage or government restricted.
Zurich, Berlin, London and Stockholm have good tech companies
I'd add Amsterdam in there as well. Elastic is HQ'd there, for instance.
Any other tech companies in Amsterdam or London? Idea of living abroad intrigues me since I didn’t do the study abroad thing in undergrad, and there’s really no language gap in both cities.
Go to China like Alibaba, ant financial, baidu, tencent, etc. they pay is as good as in SV but lower COL
housing even worse than SV
Wlb is terrible in China.
I heard that the battle for tech talent in India is heating up; through the grapevine the news is that Ola will straight-out double any competing offer for example.
You work in india?
No, but I know quite a few people who do
Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad have tonnes of software firms in India.
And NCR?
I believe NCR and Gurgaon also has good number of IT companies but not compared to the other 3 cities.
China has the a very strong tech environment. Search for “alibaba 11 sales 2017” and then compare with “amazon prime day 2018”. You will find wtf Amazon is shit.
so truth
All losers compared with China.
Toronto is not bad, pays around the same if not better than Vancouver, with lower housing cost and more interesting city life. As well as better talent pool, the talent pool in Vancouver revolves around gaming. Toronto also benefits from stronger academic setting of Waterloo, UToronto and Monsieur Bengio at Montreal.
But then you gotta deal with real Canadian winters eh ❄️❄️💨☃️🌨🌫
One thing you left out: there's a shitload of things to do around van/BC but nothing but factories and suburbs outside Toronto. Source: lived in ON whole life, been to van many times
