I have an offer from FB London, I'd like to stay in London for 1 year then go to the US on L1. How long does the entire process take from the date I join in London, including team matching in the US and visa application to the date I travel to the US? Given that I want to minimize the stay in London.
FB allows you to transfer team after 12m on a team, whether within site or across sites. So generally 2m bootcamp + 12m on a team + any extra time period required by your current team for you to handover/finish up. Likely 14-18m total.
Very helpful. Thanks!
For L1 visa you have to work atleast for 1 year before applying for visa. This is applicable for all companies. Then only they can prove that you have company specific knowledge.
I understand. I was asking more about the whole timeline.
It depends. If you come to the us for business trip this time will be excluded from 1 y calculations. Now with so many blanket applications denied, it can take longer. You also need to interview and get an offer from the US based team (I think it was a case for my FB friend as well but not 100) and that they should be ready to offer international relocation and ready to wait. With amazon internally - look in job finder if a role has “international relocation”

28 terrorist worshipping idiots just got themselves fired and I've never been prouder to work at Google.
Any ideas on average how many months? Given that I'll try to start looking for a team before completing 1 year.
If you’re a UK citizen and everything goes smoothly probably 4 mths.
