...before you got the job you wanted? (Companies & number of times failed) And what did you do to improve in between, when recruiters (most) don’t give any useful feedback. For me, failed: - Amazon once - FB once - Uber once None of the recruiters really gave useful feedback so I didn’t really know what to work on... went in for 2nd interview at Amazon and passed.
2014-2015 I did about 50 interviews for internships and failed all of them (got lucky at the last minute with a connection so I did end up getting one) 2015-2016 I did about 60 interviews and got 2.5 offers. 2017 I did about 40 interviews and got 3 offers, all of which were significantly better than the last years.
How many onsite did you get? And how many PTO did you have? Just curious
About 10 onsites. And I had unlimited pto 😂😂😂 I never took pto for a phone screen though, and for a while I had at least one phone call every day for about a month
None, so far I am pretty lucky
Anyone here who got into Google/FB/Microsoft who failed on the first round? Need inspiration.
Had an on campus interview for Microsoft, and did not get a callback. Two years later they hired me.
Luckily None. Cleared 10 in a row so far.
Damn how do I become a god
Failed amazon once (didn’t even pass phone screen) and got an awesome offer several years later
fb/uber more leetcode, amazon make up more stories
Soooo... you made it through FB, Uber and Amazon, eh? How’s that working out for you? I’ll wait.
@abtester, I cleared all of them, Amazon had the easiest coding problems and most bq questions. I failed Amazon when I applied the second time after I left Amazon for couple years, the interview has 2/3 bq and 1/3 code+design, I was wondering if they want a engineer or manager...
