These new apps are frickin sweet. Notion, Airtable, etc. Even Trello is "new"ish. Meanwhile my company is using Atlassians awful dinasour stack of Confluence and JIRA because thats what we always used. Now the cost of switching would be unfathomable, so we're stuck on this garbage. Does anyone get to use new tools, or have you experienced a whole company changing their internal tracking and eocumentation tooling st once? How'd it go?
And for the record, I have used Jira & Confluence so I can understand your frustration with them!
Jira4ever
I use Notion for my personal stuff and jira at work. There is absolutely nothing that wrong with Jira. I think people just like to start hating any product once it's few years old just for the sake of it.
The UX is absolutely horrible imo
Do any of the new apps integrate with jira ? I want to track jira stories and personal tasks together without copying jira stories
All these things have APIs right? Can't be too hard to transition. I'm more interested in why op thinks Atlassian is a dinosaur. What's good about these other products?
Honestly it was learning about these other tools that made me sour on Atlassian stack. It's like, why has slack completely changed the game over hipchat or teams or whatever? Because the product is that far superior, particularly in a UI sense. That's how I feel about notion
Re: API, that's probably true, it's just that there is an obscene amount of stuff being on our confluence being such and old company. idk how well notion could handle it, although it is all on AWS so maybe it would
The company I work for originally just worked with a single giant list with sublists for each work cycle. We looked into airtable. Ended up switching to monday.com and it's working pretty well for us, although we have noticed it gets slower over time as our account gets more data in it.
Notion is amazing when compared to Confluence. Very user friendly, easy for collaboration with other people and definitely looks much better!
*laughs in buganizer*
Jira is fine. Confluence is bad though.
We use SmartSheet as an internal project task tracker. Not the best tool but simple enough to give a one page view for the executives and developers alike for each of their purpose.
