I'm considering creating a new mobile OS but need to get an idea of how many people I'd have to hire first. How many people does it take? Thanks!

It’s not difficult to take an MIT licensed OS like FreeBSD and make some cellphone software. The hard part is getting app developers to support.

There are tons of performance and security advantages. Look at BlackBerry’s QNX-based BlackBerry10 OS. It ran well on hardware that could never run Android. But it had no app support.

I mean what edge would your OS have? I'm not saying Android is the best, but I'd you want to compete you have to give people a compeling reason to switch. MSFT and BBY failed - it's not easy.

Talk to microsoft about it 😎. Youd have to have some major advantage in your design to get distribution, let alone getting developers to write apps for it
