An Uber recruiter reached out to me and we scheduled a phone call for today. I have almost 3 yoe: 1 year and half a unicorn startup and the rest at Facebook. TC @ Facebook is $150k because I'm an enterprise engineer with very little RSU. (Enterprise Engineer is software engineer working on internal business tools). I will not reveal my TC however. I plan on asking how much TC Uber can offer. In case the recruiter turns it around on me and asks me how much I want, I want to know the upper bound for how much I can expect. I also want to know if having counter offers is necessary for negotiation if I already work at a FANG. If I make it clear I want say at least $260k TC before even interviewing, is that good enough leverage for negotiating later?
Getting a bit ahead of yourself
Not necessary but definitely useful. 260 doesn’t seem unreasonable. Internal tool or not. U r swe
Ask for 250K and at least 3 months before you get laid off
A severance package?
i was offered 275k tc w/ 2 yoe
You don't even gave the job yet and I've heard of Uber recruiters ghosting candidates
"I will not reveal my TC" gtfo then
Think he/she means to the recruiter. The current comp at fb is included in the write up
Are you a ic3 ?
You can ask whatever you want, they know you can ask whatever you want, so they'll offer the minimum they think you'll accept. If you get a competing offer, they'll think you won't accept an offer less than that.
You dont even know if you like the job or the role yet wtf are you talking about.
I don’t want to take a day off to interview just to get lowballed
Then don’t interview
