How much comp can I expect as L63 in Redmond if I relocate from MSIDC?
Joined MSIDC 15 months back last Jan as L62. Total Yoe now 8 years. I have gotten an offer from Meta Singapore for Enterprise engineer (which is a step down from Software engineer from what I heard) E5. The numbers are 193k SGD base, 15% perf bonus, 31.25k USD stocks annually.
Since Singapore's taxes are next to nothing, I calculated that if I get promoted to L63 and then relocate to Redmond, I would need to earn 230k-240k USD there for the after tax take home salary to match the after tax take home salary at Meta Singapore. I have also checked that the cost of living in Singapore and Seattle is almost the same.
Can fellow Blind folks help me understand if it is possible to get 240k USD CTC at MS Redmond as L63 on relocation?
Reasons to choose Meta E5 Singapore as EE : a bird in hand is worth two in the bush, also refreshers are great there I heard.
Reasons to stay at MS, work hard to get L63 by November appraisal and then look up relocate to Redmomd: Love the team, the wlb, the relaxed culture. Plus EE looks like a downgrade from SWE. Also, meta stocks are tanking.
Current YOE: 8 years.
Comp: 42 lakhs base, 8.4 lakhs bonus, roughly 17lakhs worth stock at current value.

Realistically your base and perf both combined can be around 180 to 190k. Irrespective of your base salaries future growth prospects are good in US. Your salary will stagnate in Singapore.
