Why doesn't OpenAI offshore and reduce expense by 80%
I am a Data/Solutions Engineer moving to another role after almost 4 years at my first job. I am supposed to connect with the HR of this other company (non-tech) that is very likely going to give me an offer. How much comp increase should I ask for? -20%? TC right now - 155K #tech #compensation #move #data
Market rate for level, company type, and location noting remote positions may pay more than local. Going to an early stage startup that could be a pay cut. Joining a large growing tech company it could be 100% or more. Levels.fyi is a good reference for most IC positions.
You boxed it up nicely, engineer73! π
Never give them a number or share what you make. Wait till they make the offer, then always ask for 20-25% more. Never accept for anything less than 25% over what you are making.
Over 9000
Absolute minimum when changing should be 25%. In this market shoot for 100% and settle for 50%.
Thanks!
50% ? Seriously? or are your just smoking?
