What types of backgrounds do people have? A friend of mine is graduating with a degree in art history, and wanted to know more about what the role is like? Is WLB pretty good? Do you get stock options?

  • $110k-$180k+ base in Bay Area. Many are hourly. RSU range $30-150k. Bonus 10-20%. Depends on the level you support and years of experience.

I have a hard time believing these EA's are making that kind of money. I have been an EA in the Bay Area for 23 years and worked in high tech and very few make in the 150 TC range, you have to be working for the top Exec. I was at Amazon and my total comp was $112, it was higher this last year due to rise in stock price, I hit $125k I know a lot of EA's and some of the new gen coming in are demanding higher comp. but don't have the skill set, no matter what is being said if your in a FAANG or other larger high tech company, there is only so much in the level that you can get. I was an L-5 and making "to much."! This was based on stock being $824 when I started and $3497 when I left.

100% agree with @H8amazon and I used to be an EA at both FB & Google and comp in the low $200k is never that high for an EA unfortunately UNLESS the EA is supporting the CEO's at FB & Google and they're tenured at the company, that's really a stretch. I make $150k, no bonus, strong RSU package but I'm also a manager.

These responses are so sexist. Don’t listen to them. I started in my industry as an admin (as a journalism major) (different Co. than where I am now) and worked my way up through multiple promotions without what these idiots are suggesting. As an admin in Boston I made around $65/$70k. Not sure about tech tho

  • If they are graduating with a major in art history... why an admin role? Don’t become an admin “just to get your foot in the door” become one because you are good at it. It isn’t an entry level position, it is a career choice.
