My company agreed to sponsor green card. But they only help with paper work, I have to pay all the all fee. I’m not sure how much does it cost or is it even possible. Appreciate your advice.
Which company is this?
It’s a small company in the SF Bay
I didn’t think that was allowed, from my understanding the company has to pay
Not really. I had an offer from a startup that had never filed visas before. They told me they were ok doing paperwork but won't pay
Are you sure that's legal though....
Having you pay the fees is very illegal. I would complain to USCIS.
PERM Fees: According to federal regulations at 20 C.F.R. 656.12, the employer is responsible for ALL fees associated with the PERM process, including recruitment costs and attorneys’ fees. The only time the employee may pay for these costs is if the attorney represents the employee and not the employer. However, in the vast majority of situations the attorney will be representing both the employer and employee during this step, as the PERM will be filed by the attorney on behalf of the employer. Therefore, the employer is generally responsible for all costs associated with this process. I-140 Fees: There is nothing that precludes payment of I-140 fees by the employee. Therefore, an employer may enter an agreement specifying that the employee is responsible for all costs associated with this process, including filings fees and attorneys’ fees. I-485 Fees: There is nothing that precludes payment of I-485 fees by the employee. Therefore, an employer may enter an agreement specifying that the employee is responsible for all costs associated with this process, including filings fees, biometrics fees, and attorneys’ fees.

Thanks! Wow that’s cheaper than I expected. I guess the attorney and job advertising fee could be much higher
Attorney fees could vary from 4k-9k depending on the Law Firm's reputation in the market
