How people at Microsoft feel working in C# when other companies have moved to Python/Go/Java?

^^

Not a fan of honing skills with less transferable tech, but at least orgs within azure are moving to .NET Core, broadening the reach of such a tech stack. Linux is becoming more of a first class citizen within azure as a platform which is a step in the right direction.

How are you comparing .NET Core with languages like Python/Go? I think these are still very advanced than C# or .NET Core

Microsoft ENQW26 Dec 1, 2020

No lol. Go is just in its infancy.

I think some teams use C++ too.

Does it even matter ? Fundamentals are key

Honestly c# is much more functional than Java with extension methods, linq, delegates, etc. It’s a modern language.

Over use of function composition along with anonymous functions is hard to read. Other than that it's just a language.

I’m in Azure

C# is just Java but better. I wish more would start using it.

Just like your name. Tamatar but rotten.

Powershell grinds my gears much more than C#. C# is a pretty okay language and more pleasant than Java IMO.
